Both professional and private pilots have long appreciated the K2 tandem series. New to the K2 5: even better performance in terms of glide angle and climb performance. The usual pleasant UP handling is of course still there, while weight and material mix have been optimized for long-term use.

What's new?
The K2 5 is not simply an adaptation of its predecessor, but a completely new design. During the test phase, for example, the effect of winglets was investigated but rejected in favor of better turn agility. What did prevail, however, were more cells for a smoother profile and thus better performance. Another new feature is an adjustment to the riser with a separate C-riser for better take-off in strong winds. There are also Rolercam trimmer buckles, which significantly reduce the effort required for acceleration. Although we have retained the four-line system for the K2 5, the lines are as easy to sort as possible thanks to color coding on the sheathing below the gallery level. The brake lines, which are subject to particular attention, are the exception and are also covered at the gallery level. Double 3D shaping over the front half of the upper sail ensures a clean leading edge even at high speeds, resulting in a significant increase in performance. In addition, Air Intake Tension Lines (AIT) have a similar effect. The leading edge consists of double-coated Everlast from Porcher, an investment in durability. The cell walls are made from a mix of Skytex 40 HF and Dominico 32 FM. This robust, cleverly chosen setup strikes a balance between durability and moderate overall weight, with the K2 5 weighing only 7,45 kilos in size SM.
How does it fly?
The K2 5 is as easy to launch as usual, regardless of how much wind there is. The launch characteristics in light winds have been improved on the previous model, and the K2 5 now has a separate C-riser to give you an extra ace up your sleeve in strong winds. The canopy rises evenly without stalling. The steering is precise and allows for sensitive corrections. In flight, this tandem is super maneuverable, true to UP's typical handling, and invites you to enjoy thermal flying and cross-country flying. The Rolercam trimmer buckles are easy to operate and provide an effective increase in speed as well as the ability to react to changing conditions and passenger weights. The brake pressure remains moderate in all conditions and across the entire weight range. If you do need to descend more quickly, the practical Big Ears holders, based on the “easy in, easy out” principle, will help you out. Totally proven and therefore back at the start: practical Snaplock brake handles.
Who is the K2 5 suitable for?
The K2 5 was developed for professional tandem pilots who value precise handling and outstanding performance, while also relying on robust materials. This makes the paraglider just as attractive for private use, as it is a reliable companion for extensive XC flights with a passenger. Size 38 is also certified for solo flights and is therefore suitable for people looking for an XXL paraglider. Certification for powered flight is currently pending but is planned.
What sizes and colors are available?
There are three standard colors – the white lower wing can be printed with your logo on request. The three sizes (38, 41, 44) together cover a weight range of 95–240 kg.

The inside of the cloth has gone through a roughening process where it is scratched to form a soft and very comfortable surface which feels super soft against the skin, and makes the whole thing more windproof too.

Ergonomic shoulder straps make it easy to carry, five compression straps allow pilots to quickly achieve a compact backpack, and the partial mesh outer layer lets the wing breath.
At just 900g it ads very little bulk and weight to the harness while flying.
Stuffsack² works with all models and sizes. It is already available to order and it is delivered with our tandem gliders.

PARASLEEVE 2 UP
PACKING MADE EASY
The Parasleeve² is designed so that it may be used with ALL UP wings, and allows you to fold the "cigar" in several different ways once the bag is zipped closed. If you like to separate the wing from the harness when packing there's an integrated riser compartment in there for you, and if you don't well rest assured that the zipper is bidirectional so that you can let the lines out at the bottom.
We're making it in three different sizes to accomodate all wing sizes, and we're happy to say that the M size weighs only 460g. There are large mesh panels to allow your wing to breathe while stored.
